Thomas the Train

Thomas Thomas Thomas!!! AHHHH

Two weeks ago Chris (hubby), Stephanie (sis-n-law) and I were in New Orleans at a holiday show selling our fragrance line, while we were gone my Mom and Ralph kept Jayden (thank you both for this he had a great time). BUT this is where the trouble began!!!!!.....

Since Jayden has fallen in love with the train that goes around our Christmas tree my mom thought it would be a good idea to introduce Jayden to Thomas the Train and the videos! Well it was a huge hit! Jayden Loved the Thomas video and anything that remotely looks or sounds like a train. He loved the movie so much that after Jayden wore out the 1st video (and Ra-Paw and GiGi could quote the whole thing) Ra-paw went to the store and bought $65 more dollars worth of Thomas videos. This has now become such a huge obsession that now when I get Jayden out of his crib in the morning the first words he says are no longer those beautiful words that bring tears to my eyes, "hi Mommy"! Oh no the first thing he says in the morning is, "Where Thomas"? (This also brings tears to my eyes just not tears of joy)!!! So we go downstairs and lay him in our bed and start the Thomas video and we eat breakfast in bed while he watches Thomas. I know your thinking this is silly but a few crumbs in bed sure beats a screaming, crying all out temper tantrum!

In addition, our bed time routine now consists of walking around the house saying night night to "ALL" the Thomas engines and friends and the train that goes around the tree, the Thomas video etc. This can be quite a process some nights.....And thanks to my wonderful parents we no longer can even ride in the car without having a Thomas video playing on the car TV. I now dream in Thomas the train! Thank you GiGi and Ra-Paw we are now buying even more Thomas things for Christmas due to my child's complete OBSESSION that you created!

Advise to other parents out there beware of Thomas the train!

And a special thanks to Uncle Tregre and Aunt Andrea for taking Jayden to see the train exhibit at the mall yesterday....Jayden did his best to tell me all about it when I got home! I cant wait to see the picture

Christmas at the Maples

Jayden is Loving all the Christmas decorations!!! He has two favorites the train that goes around the tree and the singing squirrel that Maw Maw gave him last year (he was too little to enjoy it). Its really funny the Squirrel sing "I'm getting nothing for Christmas, Mommy and Daddy are Mad, I'm getting nothing for Christmas, Cuz I aint been nothing but BAD!" Jayden dances around the room to it and then at the end yells BAD! I have already replaced the batteries once he plays it sooooo much!

As for the Train he wants whoever is in the house to sit in the chair by the tree and watch it with him over and over. When the train stops he yells AGAIN AGAIN! We finally told him the train is sleeping he is ok with this and will walk away for a little while!

Jayden also loves the lights and the GLASS balls I have on the tree....My beautiful tree is starting to look lop sided because slowly I am having to move all the balls up high!

Coloring

Jayden has recently dicovered coloring. He has been making "master pieces" at school a lot lately and will bring them home and insist they be hung on the fridge!....My beautiful black shinny fridge! The fridge with the double doors and the pullout freezer. the Fridge that took me months to convience Chris to let me buy because is was so expensive. That fridge is now COVERED in Jayden's, "master pieces"! None of these master pieces look like anything but non the less he is proud of them so there they hang all over the fridge.

My favorite master piece of all of them is JAYDEN! Let me explain: He was coloring at home last weekend and I must have blinked because the next thing I knew my little man became the master piece, he was covered in blue! Apparently the new "safe" crayons are messy so I had a little smurf boy his face was very blue! Did not seem to bother him at all he just posed as I took his picture.

Trick or Treat

This weekend was Halloween and Jayden was a Cowboy.
He was so stinkin cute,"and he knew it".

We started off at Aunt Steph-ies and took pictures with cousin Lauren before Homecoming. Then Jayden begged Aunt Steph to ride the bike (he thinks he is a big kid and wants to ride just like his cousin Macy).....

We then continued on to Poppa and CiCi's house and where we went to a neighborhood Halloween block party. Jayden was so cute he stared at these pretty girls for a long time, went after a dog and then he painted a cookie ate it and was ready to go!....

Next stop trick-or-treating at Gi Gi and Ra-Paw's and some other neighbors. Jayden LOVED to beat on the door but when people answered he ran away! He did not really get the concept of putting the candy in the bucket, he wanted to eat each piece right away or at least hold the chocolate mess in his hand!!

Needless to say we had a very FULL Halloween afternoon and evening. Jayden crashed by 7:30pm and slept-in the next morning (7:30am is sleeping late at our house)ha!

Halloween at School

Thursday Night Jayden's school had a Halloween festival so all the kids dressed up. WOW I had know idea that people spent soooo much money on costumes. Granted he goes to Montessori school with rich kids but these kids are 18 month to 6 yrs in age and had hair extensions, face paint, make-up and very elaborate costumes! Jayden walked from room to room and stared at all the big kids (he is the youngest at the school right now).

Then he decided he was going to be in charge of the "toss the bean bag game" and stood in the middle of the game and delegated the bean bag to different kids. The funny thing was he can only say a handful of words but all the kids did what he wanted! A BORN LEADER or maybe just bossy like his mom! ha

My Little Monster is 19 months old

Hello Friend and Family

It's hard to believe Jayden is 19 months old tomorrow! It seems like yesterday I was very round and counting the minutes to his arrival and the return of my old body (I am still waiting on my old body to come back)Ha ha!

Jayden is a wild child (I am told much like I was). He never stops running, climbing, or jumping off of things. He has developed his own little personality with attitude and everything. We have discovered over the course of his 19 months of life Jayden in NOT a morning baby he needs a lot of time to slowly wake up. A few days ago I had him laying in my bed drinking his morning milk as usual and I was standing over him Singing the good morning song. For those of you not raised in my family the good morning song goes like this "Good Morning to you, Good Morning to you, Good Morning dear Jayden Good Morning to you" (to the turn of happy birthday)....so I was on the 3rd Good Morning when Jayden sat up in bed, opened his eyes, pulled the cup out his mouth while putting his finger to his lips and said, "SHHHH" then closed his eyes and layed back down with his milk......I was so upset he no longer wanted me to sing. Chris on the other hand thought this was so funny almost wet his pants laughing so hard! Needless to say my baby is growing up!




Jayden one morning when he was NOT happy to be awakened. This particular day he did not "shhhhh" me instead he threatened to hit me with his bat (hence why I still have a plastic bat on the top of my fridge)
