Jayden's 3rd Birthday

I can't believe my little BABY is 3 years old. He has grown up so fast. It seems like yesterday it was Easter Sunday and I was holding that new born Angle in my arms. Now he has already learned how to roll his eyes and give Mommy attitude! But at night and early in the morning he still lets me hold him like a baby and rock him.

We kicked off his birthday at school with the "Celebration of Life Ceremony" (private Montessori school don't have birthdays or sugar) Jayden was happy just to be the center of attention! We brought cupcakes for the class that my very talented girlfriend made with grass on top and soccer balls but of course since we broke the schools no sugar rule they scraped all the icing off. But none of the kids seemed to mind!

Jayden is about to walk around the sun with the world 3 times to show he is 3 years old.

Eating Cupecakes with Jayden and his class. (all the kids fought over who would get to sit next to Jayden is is LOVED by his class mates.

This year Jayden has been to several parities with bounce houses. So for his birthday all he wanted was a bounce house and to ride the train! So we did two different train rides for his birthday to two different restaurants and then we had his BOUNCE house party at Aunt Stephies house. Those boys jumped for 3 hours without stopping! I think he had a GREAT 3rd birthday. Now all I have to figure out is how to top it for 4th!

Cousins

At the end of February we went to Baton Rouge for my Cousin Gina's baby shower for Cullen and for my other Cousin Kathryn's little girl Noa's baptism. We had such a great time because not only do I get to see all my girl cousins but Jayden got to see his favorite person in the world his 2nd cousin Thomas. The boys are like two peas in a pod, they absolutely LOVE to play together.

While all the girls were at Gina's shower Jayden and Thomas went with Chris, Ra-paw, and Uncle Dan to the zoo. They had a blast! The favorite part of the zoo was climbing on things (not sure if they noticed the animals or not) ha ha. All I know is when they returned the grownups were very very tired and the boys were still running around the house! **of coarse there are no pics at the zoo because we sent the men**

I think the best part of the weekend was watching the boys in Church. I had this great idea that I would walk Jayden and Thomas to the front of the church for the children's lesson. Well 1st thing Jayden started pushing his older boy in the back, and then he looked over at Thomas and got Thomas to start pushing the kid too. (Such a bully) After the they grew tired of angering this poor kid Thomas noticed there were steps to the alter that went all the way across the front of the church. He tapped Jayden and they started scooting all the way across the front of the church. Meanwhile there are hundreds of people watching them and the kids sermon is still in progress. Finally they got close enough that David was able to grab them and pull them back into the pew. We very quickly ducked out of the rest of the service. Soooo embarrassed!

Thomas and Jayden (Lord help us if they ever live near each other)!

Mardi Gras

Jayden has really enjoyed the Mardi gras traditions this year. He regularly runs around the house draped in beads! And he asks me if he can eat king cake all the time (he does not understand why we don't have it at the house ALWAYS)! He has enjoyed King cake 4 different times in the last month at different families houses and events. He gets very very upset if he does not get the baby (he thinks he has to Won-ded every thing (translation win everything). He has even helped me with my mardi gras wreath making (or at least he thinks he is helping)ha ha! Jayden has grown up to be such a smart, athletic, very sweet and loving little boy.

Jayden showing off all the beads he is wearing. We had to take this picture 3 times before he approved it. After each shot he would say, "let me see" and then proceed to tell me if it is ok or to re-do it.

This is the latest King cake we had for Ami's (Mimi's) birthday I was not sure who wanted the baby more Keegan (14), Macy (7), or Jayden.

Kissing his Daddy (what a little lover)

The Arm

As always this is my busy crazy time of year with work and you add a very busy active 2.5 year old and its that much crazier! This year Jayden decided to spice things up a notch and break his arm!.....

Chris was having a boys weekend with friends at the Nascar races and so Jayden and I went over to our very good friends Mike and Britney's house for dinner and to let the boys play (They have a son Braden who is 1 little more than a year older than Jayden) Anyway so the boys were playing and Britney and I decided to run to the store and get dinner. So we left Mike with the boys (this was the 1st mistake you should never let boys outnumber the adults) So as boys do they were playing rough and jumping on the bed, after they were warned and threatened by Mike for the 10th time not to jump on the bed it happened. Jayden fell off and broke his arm. Mike not being able to drive and hold Jayden called 911 and then called Brittney. Well Brittney trying to to freak me out was saying Kristin we need to go and I kept telling her just a minute I'm checking out. After she said this a few times and me not moving very fast she finally said JAYDEN BROKE HIS ARM. Well that got my attention, I threw my stuff at the poor lady at the register and flew out the door to the car. WE raced home and beat the ambulance there and poor little Jayden has sitting on the sofa holding his arm white as a ghost (more so than normal) he was not crying but saying over and over my arm is broke. At this point the paramedics got there wrapped the arm up so the could not see the bone poking out the side of his arm and we rushed to the ER at Children's Medical. They were an amazing staff who were so good with Jayden and pretty quickly gave him some drugs were he thought everything was funny. We had to wait 6 hours before they could set and cast the arm because he had eaten and when your that little they put you under to set broken bones. Finally about midnight we were leaving the hospital with a temp cast on his arm and an appointment to go in a few days later and get a new cast. (Jayden wanted a blue cast like Thomas the train).

Needless to say that goes on my top 5 worst nights ever! But we survived and its been almost 5 weeks with the cast. It has not slowed Jayden down one little bit. But bath time sure is fun, it because a 3 person job (Jayden in tub, Chris holding the arm with a towel and bag over it while I scrub Jayden as fast as possible. I have gotten vary good at this after about 30 times! It will be Christmas early for all of us this Thurs. when the cast comes off!

Haloween Party and Trick or Treating

This year Jayden was so excited for Halloween, he decided early on that he wanted to be spiderman! We went to the store to get the costume and he tried on "Black Spiderman" he looked in the mirror and decided he looked cool and refused to take it off! Needless to say we bought it (did not really have any other choice)ha ha!

We went to Jayden's school Halloween Party Friday night (they always do such a great job). Jayden was really excited to show off his costume to his friends...that is untill an older kid walking down the hallway said to Jayden, "ewwww your black spiderman he's bad"! You could see the look of horror on Jaydens face, I thought Chris was going to deck the little kid. I quickly said black spiderman is cool and gave the kid my best evil eye and he said, "yeah he's cool"! The rest of the night was a lot of fun Jayden went from room to room playing all the games and watching the big kids (he LOVES BIG boys).

Sunday night I took Jayden trick or treating he wanted to pratcice before we went out so he made me stand inside while he knocked on our front door and said Trick or Treat and I then had to say, "oh wow black spiderman you look cool" and then give him candy. He would say thank you and I had to close the door and we would start all over!!! After the tenth time I said I think your ready let's go....we got to about the 5th house and he said, "I'm tired lets go to Ra-Paws". By this time I was more than happy to be finished. We then went to GiGi and Ra-Paws where Jayden got to hand out candy to the other kids (he loved this part the most). The kids would come to the door and Jayden would go, "what do you say"? and if they did not say trick or treat he refused to give them any candy! It was pretty funny!

MawMaws and PawPaws House

Jaydens favorite place to go play is at MawMaw and PawPaws house. He LOVES their backyard because he can run and play. His favorite is to throw things into the fish pond (I know how much MawMaw loves this too)ha ha!

This past trip to MawMaws backyard was interesting....I was standing there taking picture after picture of Jayden, then (as I always do) I was flipping threw them on the camera to see how they turned out and I noticed something in the bottom of the screen.... it looked like a rat! So I ran over to the pond and sure enough there was a big dead rat right next to Jaydens foot. I tried not to freak out since Jayden had not noticed yet. I grabbed Jayden (who by the way was not happy about me interrupting his play time) and I began yelling for PawPaw to come get it! About that time little miss PERFECT MawMaw yells, "throw it in the neighbors yard Ken". I was appalled that came out of my sweet little grandmaws mouth! I think she might have some issues with her next door neighbor!

Don't be fooled by the sweet looking little old lady holding Jayden she throws dead animals in the neighbors yard!

Notice the bottom of the picture next to the stone...a big dead rat!

Family Photo Shoot

Ra-Paw has been telling Jayden about his Aunt Jaclyn coming to visit him for months now. To the point that Jayden will, "God Bless" her in his prayers every night even though he had not met her yet!

So when Jayden and I went to the airport to pick up Aunt Jaclyn, Jayden was very excited! And while Aunt Jaclyn and Mr. Chris were here Jayden was in heaven he LOVED both of them (to the point where they might be 2nd guessing having kids)haha!
Since they have been gone Jayden has asked, "wheres Aunt Jaclyn and Chris" several DOZEN times!

While we had all 4 kids plus Jayden in the same city, state, and country at the same time (Which has not happened in at least 13 years)we decided to take family pictures. I (Kristin) desided for some dumb reason to take on the task of coordinating date, time and outfits for 9 people to take pictures. I know that does not sound hard but believe me it was, it really really was! But I have to say it might have had the easy part that poor poor photographer. I will tell you compaired to Uncle Stephen, Jayden was easy to photograph!!!!

See the results of a very LONG hour.....

Ra-Paw, Mom, and Jayden (Mom is holding onto Jayden for dear life, but at least 2 out of 3 are smiling)

Jayden was soooo over taking pictures by the time we got to this one! He has on his best "trouble" look.

The 4 kids plus Jayden (As long as Jayden could be next to Aunt Jaclyn he was ok)

Please don't eighter one of you smile!

This is the whole reason for the photo shoot and it was sooooo difficult to get this picture taken. Due to Stephen being .....well himself. So this is the winning picture! I like to call it Turtle pooking his head out! And yes Jaclyn is laying ontop of Stephen....long story!

If this picture does not capture Jayden's personality nothing does!

The whole family!!! This was an act of God to get everyone looking at the camera at the same time!
